UTA offers free parking for active transit users in order to increase access to the transit system. Some lots offer single-day parking; others offer extended (multi-day) parking. Some lots are owned by UTA, while others are owned and maintained by community partners such as churches.
Park and ride lots are reserved for UTA customers who are actively using the transit system on the day(s) they park their vehicle in the lot. A transit pass is not a parking pass. If you are not parking in order to access the transit system, you cannot park in the lot, even if you do have a valid UTA transit pass.
These lots are not available for residents, visitors, or employees who are not using transit. If users park in the lot to access a residence, apartment, place of employment, shopping center, or any other building or place that is not a UTA service (including bus, train, or Vanpool), they will be subject to a fine of $50 or more.
UTA Park and Ride Do's and Don'ts
Please follow the rules listed below when leaving your car in a park and ride lot. Help keep your car and belongings safe by following the suggestions for Park and Ride lot safety.
Do:
- Park only in designated spaces
- Remember your disabled parking placard, if applicable
- Lock your vehicle
- Roll all vehicle windows up
- Take valuables with you
- Notify UTA police (801-287-3937) if your vehicle will be parked in an extended-stay lot for longer than seven days
Don’t:
- Park in areas other than those specifically marked as parking spaces, such as along curbs or planters
- Park in any bus bay
- Park in more than one space or double-park
- Park vehicles that leak oil or other fluids
- Operate a non-registered vehicle on the premises of a UTA transit facility
- Conduct commercial or business activity
- Park a vehicle on the premises with intent to sell
- Post leaflets or other advertisements
- Litter or leave trash
- Walk or drive over, park on, or otherwise damage planted or landscaped areas
- Smoke or vape on UTA property, including in parking lots

Vehicles found in violation of park and ride lot rules may be cited or towed at the owner’s expense.
