March 26 Media Event Utah Transit Authority to open new TRAX Red Line station in South Jordan

WHAT: The Utah Transit Authority will hold a media ceremony to officially open the South Jordan Downtown station on the TRAX Red Line. Located at approximately 11000 S. Grandville Ave., the South Jordan Downtown Station will accommodate population and commercial growth in the area and serve as a direct access point to The Ballpark at America First Square, the new home for the Salt Lake Bees. Construction began summer of 2024 and adds a third TRAX station for the City of South Jordan and southwest Salt Lake County.

After this event, TRAX will officially begin stopping at this station as part of its daily Red Line schedule.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 26, 12:45-1:45 p.m., Photo op at 1 p.m. sharp.
WHERE: 11000 S. Grandville Ave., South Jordan, Utah
WHO: Representatives from Utah Transit Authority, City of South Jordan, the Larry H. Miller Company, Utah Department of Transportation, Paulsen Construction, and CRSA

VISUALS:
12:45-12:55 p.m.: Media staging on platform for train arrival. Please note: the train must follow a strict schedule due to active rail service.
1-1:10 p.m.: MEDIA PHOTO OP: First train arrives at South Jordan Downtown station carrying dignitaries and Bumble, the Salt Lake Bees mascot, to be greeted by South Jordan City officials and confetti.
1:10-1:30 p.m.: Remarks from UTA Board Chair Carlton Christensen, City of South Jordan Mayor Dawn R. Ramsey, and Larry H. Miller Company CEO Steve Starks.
1:30-1:45 p.m.: Additional interviews available.
